Kforce has a client, a leading regional Real Estate organization seeks a Development Accountant for NYC, New York (NY) location.
Will be responsible for accurate accounting for various pre-development and development projects
Focus on preparation, review and analysis of monthly requisitions, loan draws, general ledger accounting, budget analysis and financial statement prep
Provide accounting, budget and financial reporting for development entities
Extensive general ledger account analyses and all other accounting procedures required to produce accurate financial statements
Receives soft costs and other invoices and verify of final AIA G702/703 including roll forward, mathematical accuracy and completeness of support (lien waivers, insurance etc.)
Create journal entries for accruals and prepare required workpapers and coordination with outside accounting firm
Prepare bank loan draw request or capital call request to partners
Attend meetings with bank representatives and project managers/executives
Monthly accounting close and preparation of financial statements of development entities
Research and administer contracts and agreements between development entities
Degree in Accounting, (CPA a plus).
A minimum of 3+ years of project accounting experience with at least 2 in development accounting. * Good working knowledge of GAAP
Proficient at an intermediate level with MS Excel
Familiarity with Timberline accounting system (or similar) preferred, but not required
Strong accounting skills and oral/written communication
Must be able to analyze raw data and present findings
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
